There's Something in the Air

I always knew there was something special in the air over Madrid. No wonder I like it there so much. ;)

La Semana in News #18

I don't think this recipe is in the Betty Crocker cookbook.

Credit woes for credit unions.

KC area breaks 2,000,000.

All those people will need to be fed. Sloppy Joe's are a good way to do that.

Today in 1873.

Where are Ricans gonna find boxes to use as their luggage now?

Pretty Pictures Version 10.11.08

Zongo le dió a Borondongo, indeed. So, Rita Jean and I tried to go to 1905 last night sans success (if you consider success having some victuals and not just drinks at the bar even though your friend is the tarbender). The place is what hipster kids would think is a traditional Frenchy bistro. We'll definitely go back during the week to actually eat.

But today's Pretty Pictures are a throwback to the golden days of La Música. I've been having Celia on the brain for a while now (to the Jayhawk's chagrin and drunky entertainment last night). So, with no further ado, I give you Celia Cruz and "Burundanga," which, in Rican, means "big fat mess" and in Colombian is a rooffie. Who knew? Celia's song makes a whole lot more sense now, though, huh?
